What's On Your Workdesk....WOYWW

How can it possibly be Wednesday already? I've checked the calendar twice just to make sure and yep it is.
There doesn't appear to be a lot of change on my desk this week but I have been visiting whenever I could manage.

The little drawers beneath the windows have caused some comment on my previous posts, but I have to confess that they aren't really drawers ~ they are vents. I'm not sure what the original studio was used for when the house was extended but it needed ventilation. I'm not too bothered that they aren't drawers because there is an amazing amount of storage cupboards and drawers anyway.
Here's a photo to let you see the vents....

Even though I'm in Australia these vents make the studio quite cold during the winter months, so now that I'm using the room I'll have to organise heating.
And so on to what I've been busy working on....more doodles (or zentangles)...

There appears to be a theme going on here....unless I was hungry whilst working?

I also decided to redraw the original leaf that I did at the line drawing workshop.
It wasn't on particularly good quality paper with it being my first practice peice but now I'm happy : D

Here's the one I'm working on today.....

I've got some other ideas planned, but I need to allocate the time in order to complete them....ho hum...

So if you haven't a clue what I'm on about or visited What's on your workdesk Wednesday (or WOYWW for short) before, then nip across and visit Julia.
Take a peek at an incredible amount of interesting idea's, creativity and a whole great bunch of arty people! It's fun....
Thank you for your visit here today and I hope you come back soon. Next time I'll pop the kettle on....
Enjoy :D

    1. I have to tell you that the vents weren't what I expected when I first opened them. Thankfully there is enough storage space in the room.
Thanks for stopping by and admiring ~ Have a wonderful WOYWW :D

  2. It does make you curious as to why they would need the vents under a window like that, but quite a clever idea really. Could you fill the space with insulation for the winter months to make your studio a bit more welcoming when it is cold? (I am secretly laughing as I figure it can't actually get that cold in Oz... I get -30 degrees C here in Calgary... now that is cold)!! ;) Love the look of your new zentagles, very pretty! Annette #22

    1. Hi Annette,
Well the windows don't actually open so I suppose that was one way of sorting it.
This house has double brick which keeps really cool during the summer months...well cool unless you have about four 40C days in a row...but it can be chilly and sometimes I go outside to get warm!
Crazy isn't it? -30C sounds incredible. I begin to shut down if it drops below 16C. What a wuss. LOL
Thanks for stopping by and have a great WOYWW :D

It's a pretty special space but it is in the house, next to the family room and kitchen. If I sit in the right chair I can see the tv too.
The little sneeky view that you can see through the vents, is looking at the side door to the garage.
Enjoy your WOYWW and thanks for popping by...I'll put the kettle on next time :D

  18. I love your zentangles, absolutely love them. I think your way of leaving a white space is very clever and just makes the drawing better. If it was all patterned, your eyes would dance. The white leaves a relaxing space. You need to get them printed as cards, they are that good!

  22. OK, I'm going to bring this conversation right back down to earth: how can folks get so worked-up about a couple of air-vents??? And as for converting one's work to rubber... what can I say?
I am just jealous that you have a work-room. In our house it's called the Dining-room, which occasionally gets used for its originally-intended purpose, but more often gets used for craft work or gardening tasks!

    1. Morning Mark,
      Hmm...lower the tone I see ;D
I was actually going to make a similar remark about the rubber but then realised that the ladies at WOYWWW don't really know me yet and it might be inappropriate! I did giggle though.
As to the vents...we get worked up about our desks and workspaces and I don't wish to blow my own trumpet here, but it appears I'm the only one with vents!
I've got a few other surprises to show them but not just yet...watch this space.
Have a great week and thanks for making me smile :D

  34. Wow Neesie, your zentangling is stunning - at first glance I thought it was ink art - you don't see stuff this good in art galleries. You should seriously think about getting this a) framed and b) sold or make enough to have a small exhibition.

What a lovely space you have for your crafting - almost self contained with its own sink - I am in the conservatory which is straight off the kitchen, only we've taken the french doors off which are supposed to be inbetween so that it becomes almost all one space.

Oh, just before I go - I wanted to say just how cute your little Shih Tzu is - I have one, but he's a bit of a giant. He's 'Buddy' and just over a year old (27th feb) - I rescued him from being badly treated. He's such a character and entertaining.
