My Sunday Photo... Clematis

Well here we are again... it's Sunday.
Time to link up 'My Sunday Photo' with Photoalife once again.
This week I couldn't resist posting this photo of a clematis flower which had broken off the main plant. I was sitting at my table when I noticed the sunlight shining on it.
I'm afraid that the photo doesn't do it justice... it seemed to glow in the sunlight and I loved the reflection through the glass.

Thanks for visiting my place... it's always great to see you.
Today I'm also linking up with Mersad over at Through my lens

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Have fun!

    1. I do too Louise. It was just so pretty I couldn't let it just die, so it rewarded me with this lovely sight all weekend.
      It makes me smile.

    1. I collected these juice jars whilst in Melbourne and used them spread along a mantelpiece. They looked great, especially decorated for Christmas.

  3. I love this. The little shadows round the edges of the petals give the shot a very dramatic look.

    1. The edges of this flower change colour with the light. They appear mauve at times but then can be a bluey too.
I just love it and couldn't resist it!

  4. You know what I have a soft spot for captures of bright sunlight through flowers because I think it really makes you see the wonders of petals.

    1. The detail is amazing Kriss, I know exactly what you mean. The frilly edges on this flower seem to change colour with different light. At the moment they appear mauve.
Considering it's just a broken stem it's given me immense pleasure just looking at it.

  5. It's beautiful, I bet the main plant is stunning too. It's sad that it broke off but wonderful that you're enjoying it. #MySundayPhoto

    1. The main plant is new Tara so is only just getting settled. I think I might have clipped this stem as I manoeuvred it into the car.
The main plant has three gorgeous flowers and I'm hoping that it settles in well.

I'm so glad I thought to put it in some water. It's paid me back making me smile every time I look at it.

  9. Lovely photo. Our clematis is amazing at the moment. It's a shame these things don't last a bit longer.

    1. I've got two other clematis plants, but I think this new addition takes the biscuit. The others are pink and purple.
You're right it is a shame they don't last, but then there's always something new popping up or opening to have their time in the sun.

    1. You have to capture any blue sky here Jayne, it can be a rare occurrence at times. No only joking... it's been lovely during this past week. I just hope it continues.

I'm just so glad I saved it and the light did it justice.

  17. Wow! What an awesome pic! Be clematis can seem to be different hues depending on the light. Hope this one takes hold and makes a stunning display for you. Which I look forwarding to seeing maybe next year. And a cool shaped jar. I see from above comment you saved from Melbourne. What was originally in the jar? Milk, juice? Anyways, thanks for sharing ...have a wonderful week! Hugs

    1. I'm happy to report the clematis has settled in and looking very happy in it's new home Nan. Now we just need more sun. Today is the third day of cold, rain and foggy weather. What is wrong with summer. I think it might be really sick!
If I remember correctly the jar used to contain fruit juice. I've got quite a few of them and they look attractive on a shelf with candles in them... or like last Christmas when I place a poinsettia head in each jar. They looked great with mixed in with a garland.

    1. Simple certainly works in this case Jo,
I usually collect all sorts of blooms from the garden to fill my vase, but thought I'd just show this one in a simple glass jar.
      I think it really works.
