A Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY ~ Wednesday 18th January 2012

Outside my window...Phewph...hot and sticky with the current temperature around 24 degrees celsius. Just a smidgen of a breeze teasingly enters the bedroom windows, which are wide open in the hope more enters within. A band of heavy grey cloud hangs on the horizon but whether they'll bring some refreshment is debateable. Everything is still... 

I am thinking...that I need another cup of tea...it'll be my third so far this morning...but its harmless enough isn't it? It'll help with the creating of this post I'm sure.

I am thankful...for my health...which is good at the moment. Very often we forget to appreciate our good health until we've been suffering or recovering from a scare. I want to stop for a second and be thankful for everything working as it should (or at least I think it is :-? )

In the kitchen...There's a jug of Mango Smoothie which has been perfect for during the hot spell we've been experiencing over the last few days.

I am wearing...capri jeans, a new blue shoestring stap t-shirt, and bare feet (again).

I am creating...well its not what I'm creating that I want to show you today...I thought I'd show you my daughters design that she did for her Christmas cards. This photo isn't the final product but one that was made earlier as they say...I think they are so cute. I'm trying to convince her to do a design for Valentine Day and Easter... : D (I know she'll read this so this is just a gentle reminder...do not under estimate the sneakiness...hehe)



I am going...to hopefully reorganise all my photo's on my laptop. I want to back them up on an external hard drive. It’s something I've wanted to do for a long time...just always seems to keep going further down the list. I've so many now that it’s really getting to be a priority.

I am wondering...if Andy Murray will win the Melbourne Tennis Open?

I think it may be one for our book club...

I am hoping...that my daughter got her artistic side from me and that when I try to draw a design, it'll be good enough to see the light of day. I plan to have a go later today ~ so wish me luck : )

I am looking forward to...chatting with my family later this week. We haven't spoken for a little while, so it'll be wonderful to catch up with all the gossip and news. 

Around the house...everything has returned to normal (whatever normal is?)...the Christmas Decs are boxed and packed away, the guest room is cleared, bed stripped and ready for the next guests to arrive. (I'll remake the bed obviously...it sounded like I stripped it ready) Weeks of dust have been lifted, only to be redristributed but it's done ~ don't you just hate that when you dust, it just moves to another place unless you hoover it away.

One of my favorite things...I always find this question a little difficult because there are always so many things that I love. I've tried to include different things each week of writing this daybook, so all my usual one's have already been mentioned...so today my choice will be photographs.
I'm not sure if I've chosen them before but they are always so special...capturing a snapshot in time...priceless on reflection.


A few plans for the rest of the week: It'll be a busy week with lots planned...They'll be work through to fun. I'm not sure if I'll make it to the Tennis Open yet but that would be special. It's brilliant to have so many activities and events here on our doorsteps. How lucky we are....

A peek into my day... 
I managed to snap this photo as I passed over the Bolte Bridge...I hasten to add that I wasn't driving the car at the time :O)




The Bolte Bridge is a large twin Cantilever bridge in Melbourne.

It spans the Yarra River and Victoria Harbour in the Docklands precinct to the west of the Melbourne CBD.
The bridge was designed by architects Denton Corker Marshall and constructed over three years from 1996 to 1999 and cost $75 million. It was named for former Premier of Victoria, Sir Henry Bolte.
