Happy Easter Monday to you all.
This photo was taken whilst traveling along the Firth of Forth road bridge... looking across to the rail bridge. I've travelled on both bridges numerous times as I travel up and down the country.
Here's a few details for anyone interested in bridges...
The Forth Bridge was the most prominent steel structure when it became operational in 1890.
The cantilever railway bridge was built across the Firth of Forth at Queensferry, 14km west of Edinburgh.
It still continues to remain a significant and admirable engineering structure of the Victorian era.
If you'd like to read more about the bridge then click here
There is in fact another bridge being constructed at the moment on the other side of the road bridge.

Today, I'm linking with Mersad over at Through my lens if you'd like to see more photographers work.
HAPPY EASTER to you also. A great bridge

DeleteI've never thought of that before.
Lovely photo of a very significant bridge. Been over it many times in the 'old' days. Enjoyed the history. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteOh it's great to hear that you know the bridge Donna.
DeleteI love history and find historical facts and details incredibly interesting. Even more so if there are old photographs too.
Wow - that's quite some structure, I love all the lines in that photo Neesie - up, down, across, on the diagonal, that would be a fantastic photo to sketch in some drawing class I'm sure AND she squeaks excitedly, enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers!!!! Happy days I see :)
