My Sunday Photographs this week were taken within a few minutes of each other.
I was visiting another Scottish National Trust property and whilst walking the woodland trail, I suddenly stopped in my tracks to look at the sky.
(Yes, I'm one of those people who can just stop whatever they are doing or wherever they are going to capture an image).
(Yes, I'm one of those people who can just stop whatever they are doing or wherever they are going to capture an image).
The light and sun's rays were spectacular.
I just loved the way the light shone through the clouds.
It gave an exquisite fan of light below the setting sun.
I know it sounds like an lame excuse, but unfortunately my photographs don't do it justice.
It really was spectacular.
It really was spectacular.
It was certainly a show stopper.
If you have time then why not nip across (using the links above) to see more great photos.
Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again soon
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

It looks stunning from your photos and I can imagine it was even more so in real life. Love the way the rays of sunlight fan out from the gap in the clouds.
ReplyDeleteThe rays fanning out from the centre is what caught my eye Louise. It really was stunning.
DeleteVery dramatic! It looks almost as if the light is fighting its way out by prising open a hole in the clouds.
ReplyDeleteThat's it precisely Tim. It was very unusual. It's just a pity that the photograph doesn't show it's full potential.
DeleteWhat a stunning sky and great capture - it looks like there is a hole which is letting the light through.
ReplyDeleteIt does indeed Victoria, it certainly caught my attention.
DeleteLooks pretty spectacular to me

It certainly was spectacular Catherine. It was a great day and we were enjoying a woodland walk when the landscape opened up and we saw this stunning sight.
DeleteLooks stunning in your photo's so I can only imagine what it looked like in person!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots.

It was so unusual Alan, I just wish I could have captured it better on the day.
DeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, it was really beautiful.
DeleteWonderful, such a gorgeous sky, a perfect time of day for photos
ReplyDeleteWe had had a fabulous day at a Nation Trust garden Fiona, and had just finished walking the woodland walk, when we saw this sky.
DeleteIt had been a really hot, so it was a beautiful end to the day. I've never seen a sky like it.
You've captured it so well. It looks beautiful and dramatic and doomy all at once!

Thank you... I just wish it was a better photograph, but it's a good reminder of a great day.
DeleteThat is certainly spectacular Neesie, so beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy, it was a brilliant sight.
DeleteHi Neesie, I love skies too and I can see why you had to stop and take those photos. So beautiful! I love it when the sun filters through clouds, it's quite heavenly.

When we were young Debbie, we always called the sun filters coming through the clouds... 'The Fingers of God'. I adore sky photographs too.
DeleteStunning photos, you can't beat a beautiful sky
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
I totally agree Darren... but I didn't have to climb on my car for this one ;D
DeleteThanks for hosting and I hope you have a great week ahead.
That's really beautiful #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThank you Martyn, it was stunning
DeleteThat is so beautiful, I too am one of those people and if I don't stop and miss it I am so mad at myself x
ReplyDeleteOh I can really throw a tizzy fit Sarah, that if I see something (that perfect shot) and I haven't got my camera with me... Grrr!
Deletevery nice photos :) the sky in the evening here has been pretty nice too, makes for some nice photos :) I'm one of those people too, my phone is full of all kinds of random things I find to take photos of lol
ReplyDeleteI think that's the norm for many people who have mobile phones. I love sky, clouds, sunrises and sunset to name but a few Jennifer.
DeleteThey are wonderful photos! Such a beautiful sky!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim, the light, clouds and sky were stunning. It was a great finish to a lovely hot day.
Deletethose clouds are amazing. I agree a photo does not always capture the complete beauty of a situation. #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI really did try Elaine, but this was the best I could do. It was so unusual and not like any other sky that I've seen before.
DeleteExquisite images, I also love sunlight in the clouds
ReplyDeleteMe too Carol... I'm always gazing up at the sky and running for my camera if I think there's a shot about to happen.
DeleteI'm another one of those people who's always trying to capture the magnificence of the sky but never can. You came close, my dear! High five! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the high five Rita,
DeleteIt appears that there are quite a few of us sky addicts out there. I love the photo and am even thinking about making a print from it.
What a super sky; lovely to see :)
