Splish Splash... PPF and Sunday Sketches.

Splish splash is certainly an appropriate title for this weeks Paint Party Friday artwork, because it has been seriously wet and even foggy here these last few days.
That in itself is bad enough, but the rest of the UK has been basking in temperatures of near the 30 degree mark!
That just seems so unjust in my book.
So yesterday, we decided to leave fog bound Aberdeen and head inland... which worked a treat.
It's a well known fact, that the fog can be thick here near the North Sea coast, but if you drive a few miles inland, there's a good chance that the sky will clear and out pops the sun!
Which in fact it did.
We visited another Scottish National Trust property that I will post about at a later date.
I've still got Pitmedden Gardens (part 2) to edit.

I thought I would let you see what I was talking about on my PPF post last week, when I mentioned my visiting doves watching me through the window, whilst I work.
(For anyone that missed my PPF post last week here is the link... click here)
It's time to join the Paint Party Link, where Kristin and Eva host lots of talented artists to come together to share their work and inspiration.
I'm also linking up with Alexandra's Sunday Sketches
Alexandra is staying in the UK for a few months and is hosting Sunday Sketches from this side of the pond. If you'd like to see her illustrations, plus lots more through the link then you can use the button in my sidebar.
So I'll love and leave you for now.
Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you again soon.
I wish you a wonderful weekend.

  1. Love the photo with the doves. We've had weeks of hot, well over 30° weather, I can hardly believe it's September. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

    1. I did put in a request for an Indian Summer Valerie, but it hasn't really arrived here. Everyone else seems to have got it instead.
      Ho hum!

  7. sweet penguin Denise! Love to see those doves visiting you and watching over you. BTW- according to the 'Animal Speak' book which I refer to quite often-the visiting doves mean "time of peace and prophecy". Happy PPF!

    1. Thanks Linda, I had fun creating that penguin. I wanted something to depict what a wet week we've had.
Now tell me is that Animal Speak book telling me good news or bad? I'm liking the peace bit though.
      Happy PPF to you

    1. We were lucky that the fog lifted last night and we actually saw some sun after a good downpour of rain. It's not been the best weather for your visit, even though I did put a request in for an Indian Summer!
I can see lots of signs for the Fall coming, but I hope it's delayed for a little longer. I don't feel ready to say goodbye to summer just yet.
Have a great week and let's hope the sun shines for us both.

  9. OOhhhh I love this penguin. Mostly the water splashes and of course his very fashionable attire. It is the same here, fog and wet mist but just a few miles inland and it is sunny clear skies. Have a very nice weekend.

    1. Aww thanks Nicole, I was thinking of having him dancing in the puddle, but I only had limited time and had already drawn him.
Fun and games with the weather. I'm hoping we still will have a few warm days before the autumn/fall arrives.
      Happy PPF to you

  10. Neesie, the penguin is precious and is ready for rainy weather, it seems. I loved the times I have visited Scotland and do remember that about the fog. So cute the way the birds are interested in what you are doing.

    1. He certainly is Faye, it's been quite a wet/foggy week with warm sun in the middle. A real mixed bag as they say.
I am so used to the doves keeping an eye on me now that I'd miss them if they stopped coming to call.
      Happy PPF to you

  11. No fog where I am. We are still fairly warm though we have gone from the 80's into the 70's. Certainly not enough to create fog on the lake or surrounding areas. But, rain we have had and a cute, fashionable Penguin would fit right in here, especially since my neighbor has a penguin fetish :) Your art is lovely and I did go back and take in your doves ... beautiful :) Enjoyed my visit with you today :)

    1. Thanks for your kind words Andrea, and lucky you for not having fog. I'm sure my penguin would love to visit your lake. I have what I would call eclectic art because I have lots of various styles and have yet to find my niche. I'm still working on it, but having fun along the way.
We are having really hot temperatures in the south of the country, but up here, it's a different story. I'm hoping it's our turn for the warm next week.

I don't know what it means to have doves come to visit daily, except that it's expensive feeding them all! (hehe)
I go through quite an amount of top grade dehusked sunflower seeds!
