Well the holiday is over...for my SiL that is. No she didn't leave by sea if you're looking at the picture below but I thought it was a great way for you to see the city skyline.
I also thought I'd post a few photos of a tour through some of the streets of Melbourne. If you're a recent visitor to my blog then you won't have seen some of my old post photos...Melbourne has such a variety of things to see and do, its difficult to know what to include. If you want to see some more then type Melbourne into the search bar to the right for some of my previous posts.
Everytime I look at the skyline it seems to change...but I suppose that's usual with a vibrant ever changing city.
As well as the modern skyscrapers there are the old treasures.
The South Bank is a must for any foodies. There are so many fantastic Restaurants
to choose from....walk along the bank of the Yarra River and decide which to sample. You'll not be disappointed.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground or MCG as it's known has be featured when showing Melbourne. It's in the centre of this photo.
And then of course like any major city there's the people...
With so much walking I'm sure a little afternoon tea would be a treat...so off we went to the Hopetoun Tea Rooms for a little refreshment. (Psst...by the way it's a great place to take Mum for Mother's Day)
Who could resist?
But then they have been established since 1892, so they know what they're doing.
After more shopping, eating, drinking and sightseeing, foot sore and shattered we headed home. At this stage I forgot to take more photos...there's only so much fiddling you can do with your arms full!
So I'll have to leave you here and get on with the day...Muffin hasn't been well for the last week or so, but she's gruffing and ready to go this morning...^..^...obviously the vet's tablets have done the trick!
Have a great week and I'll be back soon with some more of our trips.
It's a little chilly out there so wrap up cosy this morning ~ but the sun's still shining though...yay :D
Glad that Muffin is doing better :-) There is so much beauty where you live!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
DeleteIt's hard to capture it all on camera in snippets but I'm glad you get the idea...it really is a great place to live. I've been on the move for 23 years and I have to admit this is the best place (so far).
Have a great week ~ I hope to visit you again soon ;D
We are flying in on Thursday - only for the weekend but I'm still SUPER excited. Melbourne is just one of the best cities in the world!! And don't think I'll be walking past the H/Town tea rooms... oh no! :-) Xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow...brilliant ;D
DeleteYou've booked the H/Toun Tea Rooms but I better book the weather!
Are you coming for any specific reason? Or is that too noisy :^)
Am I missing some super event that I've not heard about yet?
Have a fantastic time and I'd love to hear all about it :D
Enjoy xox
Oh thank you for your marvelous pictures. Now at least I know how your place looks like. Beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteWell that's a small portion of the city but there's so much more.
DeleteSo glad you liked my photos.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by ;D
Loved these little snippets of Melbourne Neesie. I love that Busker too! I bet he makes a bomb. How could he not?? Such an eye catching man he is! I love all that you share with us and I love that Muffin is doing better. Now catch your breath and relax for a bit. I know you will have been sorry to say farewell to your SIL, but I also know that if you are like me you are a tiny bit happy for things to get back to normal again too. Love you! xxoo
ReplyDeleteThe Busker was a real Aussie character...he played really well, like a honkietonk piano player. He wasn't bothered about anyone around him ~ just kept playing.
DeleteI think Muffy may have suffering from a little stress because her routine was turned upside down. She wasn't right from last week when we went away for the weekend, although she appeared to enjoy it. She's such a delicate wee thing! ^..^
Shh...don't tell anyone Marie, but I've been in my studio today...ahh...does you good as you well know :D
Have a great week and I hope to catch up with you soon...I hate to think what I may have missed. xoxo
Superb pictures, love the old busker and the skyline shots. Thanks for sharing! Zo xx
ReplyDeleteHi Zo,
DeleteI have to say the busker was a character as you can see from his photo.
Thanks for popping by ~ have a great week ;D
such a beautiful place! your sunlight is so crystal and clear!
ReplyDeleteI'm just watching the sun go down Kimmie...you can't ignore these beautiful shows ;D
DeleteThanks for popping over ~ its always great to see you ;D
Have a good week!
Love the photos of Melbourne. Those tea rooms sound delightful.I'm taking my husband to a cute shop called Charmers at Semaphore for High tea for his birthday on the 8th May- can't wait.

They are delightful and if you're every in Melbourne you need to pop in for a cuppa and a cake. I can really recommend a visit...you'll love it.
DeleteI need to check out the Windsor Hotel which has been serving traditional afternoon tea since 1883, so I reckon they know how it should be done.
Check out the link if you're interested.
