Winter or Spring...you decide?

WARNING..This post contains masses of photographs! So pop the kettle on and settle down for a wee whilie....;D
But before I leave you in peace...I'll have to set the scene...
This umbrella has had quite a few outings lately on my morning walks...it has to be said we have had a fair amount of rain over this last month here in Melbourne!
But just the other day I was walking and suddenly whoosh...a huge gust of wind blew and literally stripped my brolly of its skin!
I just stood and gasped with my mouth wide open...I just couldn't believe it! I've had umbrella's turn inside out before but never stripped ~ completely despoked!

A very cosy comfy driver passing just laughed which I thought was a little unkind, but then I did see the
funny side of it...and I too giggled.

Look here's what it looked like....sad isn't it?
But thankfully I did manage to put it back together again!
I love this umbrella because even on the greyest of days the pattern underneath is a tropical scene.

So yes we're still in the grip of winter, but then the sun will appear and the clouds fluff up against the beautiful blue sky and ahhh.....you can be forgiven for thinking that spring is but a whisper away!

There's also the kaleidoscope of colours being displayed with masses of plants bursting into flower....oh and lots of twitterbaiting between the birds....
So here's just a brief peak at some of the plants that I've passed along the way.
I couldn't attach them all because you'd be here till Christmas!
Enjoy...and any that are a little out of focus etc are probably taken with my son's camera that I'm still trying to get to grips with!

Sorry this one above really shouldn't be shown....it's out of focus but I couldn't resist showing the colour....I'll try and replace it with another shot when I next see the plant...

Now you tell me which season we're in....because I'm confused! :D
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

  1. It looks like a bit of all of them!!!Beautiful photos, wow!

    1. LOL...I think we've just passed each other flying from one blog to another!
It is a little confusing just now but hopefully spring will win the battle soon :D
Thanks for popping over my little Chick-a-dee ~ enjoy your weekend xoxo

  2. Sure looks like spring to me!

  3. beautiful photographs Neesie, I want to paint them all!!
    Hugs my friend,

    1. They do inspire don't they Jenn. :D
Yet more plans in the making...but so little time (sigh)
      Hugs to you too xoxo

  4. SPRING!!! Gorgeous flower pictures abound with all their glory! I miss spring, but fall is around the corner for us and it's my second favorite time of the year! I had to giggle about your umbrella, maybe you need to add a dollop of super strength glue into those spokes! waving home from the last day in Florida :)

    1. I agree Sandee, Spring it is...
I feel much better thinking it's spring...and I can get away with that thought if I keep the heating on!
I love fall/autumn too but I really need some sun and warmth right now.
Glue...hmm....now there's a thought, although I'm hoping that I can store it away in the cloakroom until next winter! ;D

Hope your weekend is going well and you're enjoying it to the max! :D

  5. Hi Neesie, I think your plants are as confused as you are - narcissi and pelargoniums in bloom at the same time ... it's just got to be spring :) Elizabeth

    1. Hi there Elizabeth,
Things can change pretty quickly round here weatherwise...but I think we are over the worse winter weather now. LOL what's the betting that we have a hail storm or an icy blast visit now after me saying that! I'll never learn :$
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and thanks for popping by :D

  6. Such beautiful photos - it really doesn't look like winter at all! If I was photographing winter here, you'd see snow and gray skies.

    1. Thanks Beth,
Even though it's been a wet, longish winter here, it's nothing like a Canadian one! ;D
Thanks for popping by....I hope your week gets off to a great start! Have fun with it! :D

  7. Oh poor umberolly, lol, I'm afraid I would have laughed too like the passing driver, but I'm glad you got it fixed ;)
Those flowers are just beautiful Neesie - it must surely be Spring or they will regret peeking out if any harsh Winter weather hits now. Enjoy them whilst you can :0)

    1. Oh I could see the funny side of it too, once I recovered from the initial shock ;D
I even giggled myself all the way home every time I looked at the traumatised brolly!
Still no sun here today but it is early...as long as the rain stays off I don't mind.
      Have a great week...let's hope it's a good one!

  8. Spring is springing in fits and spurts up here... warm days if you are in the sun.... then cold again... then lovely... feels like Melbourne weather to me!!!!! Spring won't have sprung until we get the first jasmine blooms... we are already getting the murraya flowers, though only a few, but until my jasmine blooms it isn't Spring... I have been checking it every day with hope but so far no go...loved all the photos... I wish we had more seasonal flowers... nice to have a taste of them her though...xx

    1. Yep you've just described Melbourne weather perfectly...it's jacket on, jacket off, jacket on!
Hey...I've got a jasmine here that's just coming up to bud...we'll have to have a competition... but there has to be photgraphic evidence. Its not that I wouldn't trust you obviously Trace but... ;D

I only heard 12 days to go until Spring's sprung...that's according to the radio this morning :D
Hope you're off to a good start for this week. Chat soon xoxo

  9. OMG - what a lovely collection of flowers...just gorgeous! Your photos are so vivid and sharp, it makes it a pleasure to view all those colorful flowers. Thanks for sharing what's blooming in your corner of the world.

    1. Eek...well I wasn't too impressed with the clarity of the photos really. I'm only just learning to use this new camera and miss my old one so much. We had a special bond.
I know you love flowers so I'm happy that you enjoyed your visit. The photos shown here are just a snippet...I had to stop before the post became too long...you'd have been here until Christmas! LOL

  10. That really looks like a spectacular spring to me! What lovely flowers blooming everywhere. I think Mother Nature has been a little confused the past year or so. ;)

    1. Hi Rita,
I think you may be right about Mother Nature.
I didn't take photos of all the beautiful flowers out now because the post would have been too long...I've got masses of azaleas here blooming too.
Six more days before it's offically spring but the birds and blooms definitely think it's here already!
Have a great weekend and enjoy yourself whatever you get up to...have fun :D
