What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday ~ WOYWW #167

 It's WOYWW time again...
Basically on a Wednesday it's time to open your door and let everyone in to see what you're up to...well on your workdesk that is! Visitors can come from all over the world....so be prepared....get that kettle on!
There are so many talented artists and crafters out there...there's always something to capture your interest or inspire you so pop over to take a look at Julia's blog at Stamping Ground to check out what everyone's up to...
Now let me show you what's happening on my desk this week....

Once again my poor dining room table is my workdesk, but at least it's getting lots of attention.
It won't be long now before I can relocate back into the studo...well I'm keeping a positive attitude here.
The light is brilliant in there but I need it to be a fair few degrees warmer to enable me to sit and work.

I've been making my doodles into cards for my Etsy shop.
They seem to be a grouped together in a theme of Australian icons...which wasn't a preconceived notion...they just arrived! They'll hopefully arrive in the shop in the next day or so...so if you want a closer look just click on the Etsy shop logo in my sidebar. ;D
I've also got my frog design completed now, but he had to stay overnight at the printers!
I do hope he's okay and plan to pick him up later today....so I'll pop back later and add him in here for you to see.
As well as visiting the printers I also nipped to my local art suppliers yesterday too and can you see...I'm now the proud owner of four Copic pens! I know only four...but I wanted to see how they work before committing myself to them. Don't forget I've not long purchased the Derwent Intense Pencils...
We do have to eat too you know!

I do love black and white though as you can probably guess by my work, although I did paint with vibrant colours when doing Silk Painting.
Talking of black and white I watched an amazing art programme last night which I'd like to share with you today if you can spare the time. It was about an incredible photographer by the name of Jeff Carter.
Absolutely fantastic photographs highlighting Australian's daily life from as far back as 1940's!

Lastly and I realise that today's post has been a little longer than it should be but I have to apologise if I didn't make it to your desk...I did try and for some I even visited numerous times because I forgot where I was up to...sigh! So I'll try again this week. :D
Have fun and enjoy WOYWW!

I adored Jeff Carter's work. I always think black and white photos are timeless anyway but when they capture life back in time they are priceless.

  2. Congrats on the awesome Aussie cards! I couldn't get the link to Etsy to load...it kept taking me to where the app can be had. Love the 'vintage' photo. My daughter saw some of me years ago and was so surprised I could be classified as vintage!! Have a great week. Vickie #38

    1. Thanks Vickie, It's interesting to hear what you say about the link...so I checked out it out and if you just click on the picture then it doesn't work...you have to click on the word MORE...or better still on the word BUY!!! LOL ;D

I'm sure you're not vintage because that would mean I am too!
Maybe if we say that it was the effect that the photographer wanted we could get away with it? :D
      That'll work for me.
Have fun desk hopping and thanks for stopping by ~ enjoy!

  3. Hi Neesie,

Your table is covered with goodness! That photo is just amazing - love the look of the amish pushing the stuck wagon and the cow wondering what is going on.

My blog candy is posted so check it out!

    1. Hi Kay,
Thanks for your comment. There are so many fantastic photos on his website but that one really caught my eye. The boy was only about 4 years old and the woman next to him was his Mother and then next his Aunt. The car didn't have enough petrol so hence having to push. I'm hoping that once Jeff took the photo he would have helped.
Part of the programme showed the original photo and then he revisited the people and took an updated similar one. The 4 year old was in his 50's....It was fascinating and really interesting.

Oh by the way, I'll be visiting later to check out the candy...I just need to cook dinner first! My boys can only be left so long without food! :$

Happy WOYWW to you too :D

I think we all have some funny stories about our first cars ~ mine kept going missing...someone kept taking it to drive themselves home late at night, but I never found out who it was! We would just get the report that it had been found locally again.
In the end I used to only have fumes left in it, so that they couldn't drive it far even if they wanted to!

    1. Hi Karen,
Thanks for your lovely compliments. I think Jeff Carters photography is amazing...so it's great to hear you do too. I love the way the cow is looking at the unusual spectacle!

Please don't apologise for being late because I'm normally the late one...in fact I should really be visiting more desks today but have decided that it's Wednesday tomorrow so I'll start again then.
I know I'll never be able to visit all the desks so I do the same as you...random hops and call backs! ;D
I hope your week is going well...get your desk ready for the visitors (lol) xoxo

  43. I'll be checking out your ETSY shop for sure - I just love your 'directed doodles' and the way you make each animal or icon look so full of character just using tangles/doodles. I'd be hard pressed to choose a fave! You have such a talent and I hope you're immensely successful selling your cards and art!

    1. Terrie you say the nicest things...you've made my day ;D
It's hard to keep motivated sometimes when you are being creative so having positive reinforcements work a treat for me.
I adore doing what I'm doing and just want to carry on...I've got so many ideas and designs still clambering to get out into the light!
Thanks again for being so supportive. It means such a lot to me :D
      Have a wonderful week xoxo

  44. BTW, I just tried to enter your shop through the widget on your sidebar and it doesn't appear to be working. I clicked all over the place and couldn't get through.....might want to check on it. I'll go search ETSY directly....

    1. I was actually in the Etsy shop writing so maybe that had something to do with it...but maybe not. It's all new to me and a steep learning curve! :$
I've just checked the Etsy widget, and you need to click on (more) or better still the Buy option...LOL :D
I've just edited the title to show this, so hopefully it will work...if you try again and it doesn't, could you let me know please?
I'd really appreciate knowing if something isn't right.
Thanks so much for pointing it out to me.
